About
In this project, you come to a loom already dressed with a sturdy plain-weave warp suitable for rag rugs. Each student weaves their own rug section, cuts it off the loom when finished, and the next student continues on the same warp. This format allows several students to create rugs from a single warp while learning how rag rugs are constructed. You can choose your own weaving materials. Bring old sheets, curtains, or other fabrics to cut into strips, or use prepared fabric strips from the studio. You can use enough of our fabric strips to make one rug with no extra cost. Each student will weave one rug and finish it during their session. You schedule your days with the studio to fit your availability. We estimate that you can make a rug between 5-7 feet long. If you have different dimensions in mind, please talk to us!
