About

Handwoven Baby Wrap Course (Level 2) Take the next step in your weaving practice by creating a handwoven baby wrap designed for comfort, durability, and everyday use. This course is ideal for students who have completed a beginner project (such as a shawl or table runner) and are ready to work at a larger scale with finer materials. You’ll be guided through the full process—from planning and loom setup to weaving and finishing—while developing greater confidence and control in your work. Throughout the course, we will support you with: designing your wrap, including color and structure planning for length, drape, and usability dressing the loom for a longer warp weaving with consistency over an extended project understanding how finer yarns affect structure and feel finishing your wrap, including simple hemming techniques Students will choose from a curated selection of yarns during the planning phase. Finer yarns create a strong, supple fabric with beautiful drape that is comfortable across a range of temperatures. We typically recommend a combination of cotton and wool for these projects, resulting in fabric that is soft, structurally sound and comfortable against the skin. Because of its scale and materials, this is a more time-intensive project than a standard shawl. Students should plan to spend consistent, regular time at the loom throughout the course period. By the end of the program, you will have created a fully functional, handwoven baby wrap—an heirloom-quality textile designed for daily use or as a meaningful gift. Tuition: $950 Materials included
