Embark on a transformational weaving journey with our Swedish Weaving course, designed for both beginners and more experienced crafters. In just three weeks, you will gain hands-on experience using authentic Swedish floor looms, guided by our expert instructor who brings decades of training and experience from Sweden. This course lets your creativity loose as you design your own projects, with personalized attention in small class sizes of 6-7 students. By the end of this course, you will have completed your own unique woven piece(s). Many beginners will make a shawl, and you can choose between wool and alpaca. You will probably have time to make two, and you can make them in two different techniques, both in Tabby and in Twill (don't worry, we'll teach you what they are if you don't know)! If you have a bit of experience, talk to us about what you'd like to do if you want to make something different. You will have three (3) hours of instruction per day of class. Once you can weave independently, you will also have access to your loom while other sessions are ongoing (1-4 PM). We will have a zoom meeting prior to class starting, where you can select your materials, so that they can be ordered and ready for you the first day of class. Materials fee will depend on what you select, but will likely be between $60-150.
