Have you ever wanted to dye yarn using your own natural materials? We will dive into a multitude of different natural dyes that you can find from nature (think avocados, leaves, bark, onion skins, etc.) and also use some minerals or mineral salts. We will work in pairs, and have space for up to 8 students in this course. Each student will learn all the techniques, and go home with samples of each color, as well as a larger amount (about 300 g) of one of the colors. We will use wool yarn for our dyeing course. We will also combine several techniques to see how each color responds to iron or copper. It will be so much fun! The course runs 2 Saturdays in January, 9 am-2 pm. Dates are January 10 and 17.
